Central Corridor Project

The Central Corridor Light Rail Transit (CCLRT) Line will cover 11 miles between Downtown Saint Paul and downtown Minneapolis linking to the existing Hiawatha Line, via University Avenue and Washington Avenue. The $957 million dollar transit-way will have feature 18 stations, connecting Downtown Saint Paul, the State Capitol complex, Midway commercial District, University of Minnesota, and Downtown Minneapolis, in addition to the many distinct Minneapolis and Saint Paul neighborhoods in between. 
Construction of CCLRT project began in 2010. Light Rail service is slated to begin in 2014. All design, construction and operation of the line are the responsibility of the Metropolitan Council.
