Diary of a University Avenue Tenant – The world outside the DCC window
Construction has been just outside our door for nearly two months now. We have encountered all the dust, the noise, the temporary water shut off and the noise…did I mention the noise?
Today, construction workers were placing the frame for the future Lexington Pkwy station. Yippee! It is exciting to see some tangible evidence of the all that banging and rumbling outside our window. Throughout these 8 weeks we have been taking pictures to chronicle our experience, which has not been without its problems.

DBE and Workforce Progress on the CCLRT Project

The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and Affirmative Action Oversight Committee, or DBE/AA Oversight Committee functions to ensure that contractor progress on project goals for DBE utilization and minority and female workforce inclusion are being met, and to address concerns or failure on a monthly basis. The committee meets the third Thursday of every month from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm at the Central Corridor Project Office (CCPO) in the Griggs-Midway building on Fairview and University. Wanda Kirkpatrick, director of the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity at the Metropolitan Council and the Department of Human Rights MN, chairs the committee. These meetings are open to the public.

Diary of a University Avenue Tenant - What to Expect During Construction Series
Rumble, rumble... Construction crews are busy milling the streets in front of the doors of the Central Corridor Resource Center, where the DCC office is housed. As the trucks and machines roll down the Avenue there are noticeable vibrations throughout the building. A steady rumble, with the periodic boom of the machines can be heard. Conducting a meeting or taking a phone calls require a bit of finesse.
*A-choo* Pardon me, it's a little dusty in here.
